With new shows coming to Netflix all the time, the collection of romance shows is always changing, too. Many will make you both laugh and cry, and feel warm and fuzzy inside, too. Others, meanwhile, are total guilty pleasures that you talk to your friends about after binging the latest season or the newest episodes.

Though it’s not a dating show in the traditional sense, when it comes to marriages, 90 Day Fiancé is the most successful reality show by far. The TLC series follows a group of real-life couples, consisting of an American engaged to someone from another country.
However, despite this success, the show has a higher chance of failure; with an average of five couples per season, 41 couples have chosen to divorce after eight weeks. Maybe the five couples on season 15 will improve the show’s success rate rather than increase its number of divorces. The Circle is a game show, sure, but it’s also my favorite Netflix reality series of all time, so I have to include it in some way. Two of the stars of Perfect Match started dating after appearing on The Circle together. The most recent season was advertised as a “singles-only” season, in which the players were encouraged to flirt and find love. That’s dating show material, so I’m filing it as an honorable mention.
This Netflix original was filmed outside of Australia, and gives these singles the chance to either try again or walk away. The idea is to see how well the couples can resist temptation. Love on the Spectrum follows several young Australians on the autism spectrum as they navigate dating and romance. It’s both an empathetic and amusing series, and by far the most realistic reality dating content on Netflix to date.
